Rosemary McCorvey

Eyelash Extensions Preparation Instructions

It is critical to follow all preparation and aftercare instructions for your initial appointment as well as your perfecting appointment, in order to achieve optimal results. Please read carefully.

Prior to Service:

·      Do not apply makeup to your lashes.

·      If you wear mascara the day before, make sure all residue is removed.

Aftercare Instructions

Day 1:

·      Do not wet your lashes for 24 hours after your appointment. The adhesive used during the service must have time to fully dry. You may wash your face in the sink using a washcloth, however be sure to avoid the eye area.

·      No saunas, facials, or swimming within 24 hours after your appointment.

Day 2 until your fill in:

·      Be gentle with your lashes! Do not rub or pull on your eyelash extensions.

·      Do not use any oil-based products on your eyes. Oil will breakdown the adhesive, causing premature loss of lash extensions.

·      Do not touch lash extensions with your bare hands.

·      Do not perm lash extensions.

·      Do not use Eyelash Curlers on lash extensions.

·      Do not use cotton on lash extensions.

·      Do not use waterproof mascara, only water-based mascara. If desired, you may apply mascara only to the tips of your lash extensions.

·      You must wash your lashes daily (after the initial 24 hours). You may apply a lash cleanser (Cetaphil) with your fingers, rubbing gently down the lashes. If you prefer, you may apply a lash cleanser (Cetaphil) to your lashes using a spoolie. Brush through lashes gently, and rinse with warm water.

·      You must brush your lashes daily with a spoolie.

·      Do not attempt to remove lash extensions on your own. Contact the salon to book an appointment for removal. (This will prevent loss of your own lashes).

Lash Enhancement Preparation Instructions

It is critical to follow all preparation and aftercare instructions for your initial appointment as well as your perfecting appointment, in order to achieve optimal results. Please read carefully.

4 Weeks Before:

No eyelash serums

No Vitamin A/Retinol products

No Fish Oil or Vitamin E

48 Hours Before:

No alcohol, caffeine, Aspirin, or Ibuprofen

No eyelash extensions; if you have them, they must be removed at least 3 days prior to your appointment

Day of Appointment:

Do not wear any eye makeup to your appointment; especially mascara.

Do not wear contacts to your appointment.

Healing Process

Immediately following your appointment, your eyeliner may look harsh and painted on. This will soften up and look a lot more natural as it heals…please be patient! The outer layer of color will appear crusty and start to flake off. Do not pick, scratch, or rub the treated area or attempt to remove the crusty material. As your lash enhancement heals, you may notice that the color appears lighter and/or softer.

Aftercare Instructions

Day 1 of Treatment:

·      After your appointment, do not touch your eyes. Before bed you can ice your eyes by placing it on top of a fresh paper towel or tissue. Do not put ice directly on skin.

·      Do not wash eyes and try to keep them dry.

·      If your eyes are swollen, you may take Tylenol.

·      Remember, dry healing is best; however, if you are extremely itchy and uncomfortable you may apply a rice grain amount of Aquaphor with a Q-tip. Be sure not to over-apply as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. Never put the ointment on a wet or damp tattoo.

·      Gently rinse your eyes each morning and night with water and a gentle soap (ex. Dial, baby shampoo, Cetaphil). With a very light touch, use your clean fingertips to gently cleanse the eyebrows. Rub the area in a smooth motion for 5-10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away. To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue or let air dry. Do not use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or any exfoliants. Do not use soap, cleanser, or shampoo on the treated area for 7-10 days. All cleansing should be done with a clean Q-tip dipped in cool water and gently dabbed on the treated area. Do not rub the treated area.

·      Stay out of direct sunlight and tanning booths. You can go outside of course! Avoid laying out at the pool or a beach until your brows are healed. If you are going to the beach or pool wear a hat that shields your eyes from the sun until you're healed, like a visor or baseball cap.

·      Aside from your daily gentle washes as noted above, do not soak your eyes in water until healed (ex. bath tub, sauna, pool, or hot tub). When washing your face, wash around the eye area. Showers are fine but limit them to five minutes to prevent too much steam around the eye area.

·      Avoid facials, chemical treatments, and Botox until your eyes are healed.

·      Do not allow makeup, lotions, or other products to touch the treated area. No eye makeup until healed!

Day 2-10 of Treatment:

·      You can resume wearing eye makeup after day 7. New mascara is recommended to prevent old bacteria being introduced to procedure area.

·      You can resume using lash serum or getting new eyelash extensions 4 weeks after your touchup appointment. Do not use in between appointments.

Lip Blush - What is it?

LIP BLUSH

Lip Blush is a great service for anyone who wants to enhance the look of their lips! Call today for a free, over the phone, no obligation, consultation. 270-283-8688

What is Lip Blush?

Lip Blush is a form of permanent makeup that involves the deposit of ink into the skin of the lips to create a fuller, more defined lip; the result is a flawless, extremely natural looking lip color. The outcome is a tinted lip balm look that enhances your natural shape while remaining undetectably natural. Most people would assume you just have luscious, hydrated, and youthful looking lips!

Who is a good candidate?

Do you want to have a more youthful appearance, with bigger looking, more defined natural lips? If you answered yes then you are a perfect candidate! This includes those busy parents or business people who don’t have much time to apply make up, active people who don’t want to worry about wearing makeup, any person who has lips that look the same color as their skin, or those who have white spots on their lips.

Who is not a good candidate?

If you are currently pregnant or nursing, have a history of keloid scarring, have you used Accutane within the last year, and if you have a previous lip tattoo then unfortunately, you are not a good candidate.

How does it work?

A tiny pen-like machine is used to gently deposit pigment into the lips, slowly building a beautifully natural lip color. This allows us to build the color gradually so that we have full control over the boldness of the lip color. Color and boldness is based on individual preference.

FAQS

Will it look like lipstick?

We strive to offer services that are luxurious and natural-looking. Lip Blush is a natural lip enhancement that defines the lips and corrects any imperfections while maintaining your naturally beautiful size and shape. We do not carry bold lip colors like red or purple, and we do not offer bold techniques or solely lip liner.

How long does it last?

The retention rate of Lip Blush is dependent on different factors such as the color you choose, your lifestyle, and how you care for them before and after your appointment. On average, Lip Blush fades away within 2-3 years, with most people wanting a touch up every 12-18 months, depending on how bold you want your lips to look.

Does it hurt?

Most people describe it as a mild discomfort, and we numb! It is a tattoo, so you will feel some discomfort, but it's very manageable.

How long does the appointment take?

The first appointment takes 2-3 hours, and the touch up takes about 1.5-2 hours. Most of this time is spent mapping and numbing in order to create the perfect lip.

What is the healing process?

Some swelling and tenderness after the procedure is normal and may last a day or so. Your lips may look like you got lip filler, however this is normal and typically tapers off within the first 24 hours. Also, your lips will appear darker and bigger for a couple of days. Lips are super easy to heal as our technique is gentle. It only takes about 4-5 days, on average, to heal and during that time they may feel tight and chapped. You may apply Aquaphor as needed.

Saline Tattoo Removal Information

TATTOO REMOVAL

Do you have permanent makeup that you don’t love? Let us fix that for you!

What is Saline Tattoo Removal?

Saline Tattoo Removal is a natural approach to tattoo removal. It is the least invasive and less painful form of tattoo removal. A natural saline solution called Li-FT is used, the solution is implanted with a machine over existing permanent makeup or small tattoos. Implanting the solution into the skin breaks up the healed pigment. This process lifts the pigment out of the skin via osmosis. As pigment rises to the surface, a scab will form, and will fall off as the removal area heals, thus revealing a lightened tattoo.

How does Saline Tattoo Removal work?

We use a saline solution with lemon seed and orange seed extract, which aids in fading pigment and exfoliation. It also contains aloe vera which is aids in skin conditioning and helps the healing process. This solution is implanted in the skin via osmosis. Osmosis is the tendency of a fluid, usually water, to pass through a semipermeable membrane into a solution where the solvent concentration is higher, thus equalizing the concentrations of materials on either side of the membrane (dictionary.com). Through this process, the pigment is lifted up and out of the skin. The scabs that form contain the trapped pigment, thus the pigment is removed when the scabs fall off, resulting in a lighter tattoo.

What can be removed?

·      Eyebrow tattoos

·      Eyeliner tattoos

·      Body tattoos (only smaller than a silver dollar)

Who is a good candidate for Saline Tattoo Removal?

If you have permanent makeup that you do not love and want to get rid of, Saline Tattoo Removal can help you regain your confidence! Call today for a free, over the phone, no obligation consultation to find out if you are a good candidate at 270-283-8688.

How many sessions are needed?

There are different factors that contribute to how many sessions are needed. In some cases, one session can remove a tattoo, but in most cases a few sessions are required for complete removal. After your first session, we will have a better idea of how many sessions are needed.

Factors that contribute to the need for multiple sessions:

·      What type of pigment is to be removed

·      How recent the tattoo was done

·      How deep the pigment was implanted

·      How saturated the pigment is

·      What part of the body the tattoo is on

·      How sensitive the skin is

·      How well the skin heals

·      How well the aftercare instructions are followed

·      How much pigment is to be removed

Lip Blush Prep & After Care

Rosemary McCorvey

Preparation Instructions

It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications, scarring, and to achieve optimum results. Please read carefully. If you suspect you have ever had a cold sore in your life you must obtain a prescription for an antiviral and begin taking it a couple days prior to the appointment, per your doctor’s instructions. This is critical in preventing a cold sore or herpes outbreak on your lips post-procedure. DO NOT skip this step!

4 Weeks Before:

No chemical peels, vitamin A / retinol products, laser treatments, lip filler

1-2 days prior to the appointment exfoliate your lips with a natural lip scrub if you have dry lips.

48 Hours Before:

No caffeine, alcohol, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin e, niacin, omega 3, and other NSAIDS

No tanning

Aftercare Instructions

Day 1:

Avoid extremely hot foods and drink through a straw. For the first 3 hours, wipe your lips with a moist cotton round every 30 minutes and apply Aquaphor. Removing this fluid will prevent the formation of thick scabs. After 3 hours wipe your lips every 2 hours until bedtime and apply Aquaphor.

Day 2:

Wipe your lips 4-6 times per day and keep them moist with Aquaphor.

Day 3:

Wipe your lips every AM and PM and keep them moist with Aquaphor. By now lips should be fully exfoliated. Keep them protected from the sun. Do not use whitening toothpaste during the healing process. Do not pick at your skin as its peeling.

Day 4-7:

Keep lips hydrated with Aquaphor.

Tattoo Removal Prep & After Care

Rosemary McCorvey

Preparation Instructions

It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications, scarring, and to achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.

2 Weeks Before:

No tanning

No Botox

No Vitamin A/Retinol products

No Fish Oil or Vitamin E

48 Hours Before:

No alcohol, caffeine, Aspirin, and Ibuprofen or any NSAIDS

Aftercare Instructions

Keep area clean and open to the air. Do not cover with a Band-Aid or anything else, leave open to air. Air/oxygen provides good and faster healing. You should not be touching the area at all but if you find yourself needing to please make sure your hands are exceptionally clean.

Clean by blotting area with saline 3 to 4 times a day using a paper towel or gauze. NO ICE.

Do not soak the treated area in water. You can shower as normal but keep the area out of the shower spray the best you can and do not let the area stay wet for more than a few minutes. It is best to keep it dry but if you do get it wet gently pat dry.

No bathing, swimming, saunas, hot tubs, tanning, or sweaty exercise. No exceptions.

Do not disrupt the scabbing process (i.e. No picking, scratching, etc.) All scabbing needs to fall off naturally. If you force or pick a scab off you will disrupt the process and possibly cause scarring. It is critical to keep the scabs on as long as possible to achieve optimum results.

Treat area with TLC. Do not do anything at all that could cause issues or problems to the treated area.

Once all scabbing has naturally fallen off, apply one drop Vitamin E Oil 3 to 4 times throughout the day for a minimum of 4 weeks, or until next lightening session. DO NOT start applying the Vitamin E oil until all scabbing has naturally and completely fallen off. It is our goal to keep the area as dry as possible until all scabs have naturally fallen off.

Healing Process

  • It is important to the process and integrity of the skin that 6 full weeks of healing take place before another lightening session can be done. No exceptions.

  • Lightening and/or removing unwanted pigment is a long process and patience is required. This is true whether you are choosing a lightening product service or laser. Please be patient and give the process a fair chance to work. Expect visible and wanted results in 2 to 5 sessions. How many sessions needed will depend on how saturated the pigment is, how deep it was implanted and how much needs to be removed for the desired result. In many cases only a percentage of the pigment needs to be lightened/removed and then we can continue the correction process by color correcting or color shifting. In those cases where we have pigment misplaced or in an unwanted area, color correcting will not be an option and removing as much of the pigment as possible will be our ultimate goal.

  • Results cannot be foreseen, predicted or guaranteed.

Kentucky Microblading FAQ's

Rosemary McCorvey

What is Microblading?

Natural Hair Stroke Microblading is a form of a semi-permanent makeup. The ink enters the epidermis, as apposed to traditional tattoos, which penetrate deeper in the skin. Precise lines are made in the brows to mimic natural hair strokes. This technique creates a brow that is fuller and perfectly shaped. Microblading is a two-appointment process. Pricing includes both appointments, as well as eyebrow threading and shaping during each appointment.

What is the difference between Microblading and Combo Brows?

Microblading:

·      Involves making tiny hair-like strokes in the eyebrows with a hand tool and ink; resulting in an eyebrow tattoo that looks like hair strokes. This option shows a lot more skin than any other technique, and for that reason, it’s the most subtle and most natural looking.

·      Typically fades the fastest.

·      More trauma to the skin over time, so touch ups should be minimal and spread over time.

·      Best for people with tight skin and small pores

·      Better option for people with dry and/or normal skin.

·      Not the best technique for people with extremely oily skin or people who are prone to bleeding.

 Combo Brows:

·      Combo brows is simply microblading with shading. This technique blends both hair-like strokes and shading into one blended outcome. First, microblading is done. Then, a tiny pen-like machine is used to provide a soft, diluted version of color to fill the space between strokes. This makes the brow look fuller and slightly more pigmented than what can be achieved by microblading alone.

·      Looks like hair strokes but with a lot more coverage.

·      Lasts longer than microblading.

·      Still some microblading done, however less is needed than opposed to microblading alone. This technique requires less touch ups, thus less trauma to the skin.

·      Best option for those with little to no hair, or large holes in their natural brows.

·      Better option for people with oily skin.

Do I need a consultation first?

We offer a FREE over the phone no obligation consultation for all of our permanent makeup services. So give us a call today at 270.283.8688

A consultation prior to your appointment is not required because your appointment includes a thorough consultation in which we discuss your brows, including the best brow shape for you and the color that is best for your complexion. As a client, we want you to know you are in control through every step of the design process.

Am I a good candidate ?

Do you want perfect and natural looking brows all day everyday? If you answered yes then you are a perfect candidate!

However, if you are currently pregnant or nursing, have a history of keloid scarring, have you used Accutane within the last year, and if you have a previous eyebrow tattoo then unfortunately, you are not a good candidate.

If you have a previous eyebrow tattoo that you don’t love do not worry! We offer tattoo removal for clients wishing to have one of our artist fix their brows.

Do I need to shave or wax my brows first?

No! It is better to let your eyebrows grow out 3-4 weeks before your appointment so we can see your natural brow shape. Your brows will be threaded and shaped during the design process.

Does microblading hurt?

Everyone is different therefore pain tolerance varies by client. Most clients describe the pain level as minimal and find tweezing and threading more uncomfortable. We use the best local anesthetic cream available to minimize discomfort. Most clients rate the pain level a 2 or 3 out of 10.

How long will my brows last?

If after care instructions are followed diligently, your new brows will last approximately 12-24 months before mostly faded; 12 months on average. Sun exposure, tanning beds, chemical peels, oily skin and other factors may affect the life or your tattoo. A yearly touch up is recommended to maintain great looking brows!

Will they look natural?

Absolutely! I use The Natural Hair Stroke Microblading technique to create realistic, simulated hair strokes that look like genuine eyebrows! Your brows can be as big and bold or as soft and subtle as you like! My goal is to make your brows look beautiful and natural without anyone ever knowing you got them tattooed.

Microblading Prep & After Care

Rosemary McCorvey

Microblading Preparation Instructions

It is critical to follow all preparation and aftercare instructions for your initial appointment as well as your perfecting appointment, in order to achieve optimal results. Please read carefully.

2 Weeks Before:

Do not shave, trim, wax, or tweeze eyebrows

No tanning

No Botox

No Vitamin A/Retinol products

No Fish Oil or Vitamin E

No Facials or Chemical Peels

48 Hours Before:

No alcohol, caffeine, Aspirin, and Ibuprofen or any NSAIDS

Healing Process

Day 1:

Your brows look great! You may feel your new brows look a little harsh and dark, but color and intensity will soften as you heal. Redness and puffiness will dissipate within a couple of hours. Minor soreness may remain and it will feel similar to a sunburn.

Days 2-4:

Brows may temporarily appear darker and bolder than desired. As your brows are healing your body pushes out excess pigment which makes them appear darker. This is totally normal and your brows will lighten back up after healing is complete.

Days 5-10:

Your brows may begin to flake or scab and fall off. This step is normal and necessary. Do not pick at your brows. Let the scabs naturally flake off and continue to wash gently.

Days leading up to your perfecting appointment:

Your healing is complete, but your brows are not! Slightly patchy spots and the feeling that your brows aren’t perfect are common. You may notice small things you wish to change, such as making them slightly thicker, longer, or more arched, etc. Not to worry, that’s exactly what the 4-6 week perfecting appointment is for!

Aftercare Instructions

Day 1 of Treatment:

Right after your appointment, it is critical to not wet your brows at all for 24 hours. It is important for your brows to dry heal so that the strokes heal crisp and clean, as opposed to blurring.

Immediately after your appointment, blot your brows with a clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this every 5 minutes until all visible residue on your tissue ceases. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymph, thus helping to prevent scabbing. Blotting is key!

Days 2-10 of Treatment:

·      Gently rinse your eyebrows each morning and night with water and a gentle soap (ex. Dial, baby shampoo, Cetaphil). With a very light touch, use your clean fingertips to gently cleanse your eyebrows. Rub the area in a smooth motion for 5-10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is washed away. To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue or let air dry. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA) or any exfoliants.

·      Do not rub or pick at your brows as it can cause scarring, blurring, and/or infection. Let scabs fall off naturally.

·      No bathtub, sauna, pool, or hot tub until skin is fully healed.

·      When washing your face, wash around the brow area. Avoid long hot steamy showers until brows are fully healed (7-10 days on average).

·      Avoid facials, chemical treatments, and Botox until your brows are healed.

·      Do not allow makeup, lotions, or other products to touch the treated area.

·      Stay out of direct sunlight and tanning booths.

What to expect at your microblading appointment!

Rosemary McCorvey
Brows Beauty Microblading-Final-0033.jpg

A step by step breakdown of your appointment…

STEP 1: CONSULTATION

Our artist go through a thorough consultation before starting the microblading appointment. We believe the consultation is the most important part and takes up most of the appointment time. During the consultation, we ask clients to show us any photos they like, don’t like and/or how they normally draw on their eyebrows to get an idea of the client’s unique style.

STEP 2: DESIGN

Our artist will then measure all the points of the client’s face with a ruler to ensure symmetry and precision. Once our artist finds what she needs to make a perfect pair of eyebrows, she begins designing based on the client’s natural eyebrow hair and their desired look. This is all done with a pencil first to ensure that the shape can be adjusted, if needed, before the procedure starts. Once our client approves the shape drawn, a color is selected among the artist and client. Our artist will swatch colors on the forehead based on their natural eyebrow color and the client’s unique style.

STEP 3: NUMBING

We want to ensure your utmost comfort so we apply a topical numbing cream for 15 minutes before your procedure. We place it on top of the outline and cover it with saran wrap to seal in the numbing as much as possible.

STEP 4: MICROBLADING

Only after the client has approved the shape, color and the numbing is completed, then we proceed with the microblading procedure. That's when the magic happens. Our artist will open a sterile needle in front of the client and start the microblading procedure. Pigment is then implanted into the skin in a form of hair strokes to give it the illusion of real fine hair. Numbing is applied throughout the procedure to ensure the utmost comfort.

STEP 5: REVEAL

Once the microblading procedure is complete, the big reveal happens. We show our client their new beautiful set of eyebrows and ask the client if they would like to make any adjustments before they leave. We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction so we always make sure you walk out the door happy.

STEP 6: PERFECTING APPOINTMENT

Microblading is a multisession process, meaning, touch ups are necessary. This session is done 6 weeks after the initial procedure. At this session, our client and artist will go over any concerns they may have had during the healing, fill in any areas that may have faded or simply go thicker or darker than the first time! We go conservative on the first session to ensure the client is satisfied and adding more at the touch up is no problem. Again, steps 1-4 are followed on the touch up and make sure the client leaves satisfied.

STEP 7: ANNUAL COLOR BOOST

To keep your brows perfect an annul touch up is necessary.
